One Foundation: Jesus Christ

Exalting Christ As The Only Foundation For The Church

About

Here is my initial dive into the world of blogging. Just as many of you who may read this, and possibly blog yourselves, I am unclear of what shape this will take over time. So for now, here is a little information about me. I serve as a bi-vocational minister, meaning that I work in order to be able to serve God’s people in the local church. I received God’s call to ministry in April 2000 while going through Naval Aviator Flight Training in Pensacola, FL. Since then, I have served in various capacities in local churches (prayer ministry, youth ministry, and assistant pastor/elder) while concurrently serving my country as a Marine Corps officer and UN-1N Helicopter pilot. Most of my formation in ministry has been through personal reading (Holy Scripture and Christian books), mentoring from faithful pastors, and academic training (I have attended some courses from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA).
My plan for this blog is to share my thoughts on ministry, christian spirituality, christian books (I love to read), etc. Prayerfully, this blog may shape to serve a source of encouragement, reflection, and even debate (I love a good argument!), for like minded brothers and sisters in Christ. If you have not surrendered your life to God and His Son Jesus Christ, you are welcome also. I still love you :)
As I bring this post to an end, I want to leave you with a verse that really speaks to my heart, for it is my prayer that I can confidently repeat these words of the Master when I come to the end of my life:

“I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.” John 17:4
